Dustin is a self-taught guitarist/vocalist whose influences span many genres of music. A folk-rock artist at heart, he also experiments with flavors of blues, jazz, soul, and pop-rock. Elements of finger-style guitar virtuoso Andy McKee can be heard in his music as well as the lyrical hooks and text-painting of Dave Matthews Band.As of recently he has been known to frequent the Hampton Roads area’s finest venues and coffee-shops in support of his latest studio release “Wood & Steel” which can be found on iTunes and Amazon. He regularly performs with Bj Griffin (Cellist and Lead Vocalist from Bj Griffin and the Galaxy Groove), Scott Slay (Mandolin-player from Big Virginia Sky), and Scott Davis (a well-known Navy-band jazz-guitarist).
His next studio release “The Sound You Call Home” will be released in 2015.
-His song “Let Go” earned him a call-back from 3 of the America’s Got Talent Judges in November 2011
-“Summer Song” also earned him a spot at the SeaLevel Emerging Artist competition at the Attucks Theatre in May 2013.
-“Stay Awake” pushed him to the top 3 finalists at the SeaLevel Emerging Artist competition the following year.
-“Wood and Steel” a contemporary folk-based EP was released July 11th, 2014 at a hugely successful headlined show at The Norva

We have used the Dustin Furlow Trio for two events, and we are hoping to continue booking them for many more. The first event was a more formal graduation reception in a hotel ballroom, while the other was an outdoor, tented picnic- and the trio was perfect for both! Their voices, musical talents, and song selection are wonderful and appropriate for all ages. Each time, event guests ask us who the band is… everyone is so impressed. Also, inclement weather forced us to reschedule the picnic and Danielle from More Music was able to rebook Dustin- one less thing I had to worry about!
